Foxglove and her sister, Delphinium, were surrendered by a gentleman due to health issues. He had lovingly cared for them for the following four years, when they were found running loose in the woods. He thinks they had escaped from a local, breeder who raised them (and others) for meat. Somehow, these two, old dame rabbits managed to escape! And aren't we glad they did!
Foxglove is a beautiful, Californian rabbit with a powder puff of mahogany on her nose, ears, dewlap, feet and tail. She is ancient looking and you can really see the lagomorph (deer ancestry) resemblance in her ears which almost resemble fur-covered antlers. We LOVE Foxglove and her sister, Delphinium. They are so sweet and laid-back. Due to their size and age (we are figuring around 5 or 6 years old) and the fact that they most go together, it will be difficult to find them forever homes. But that's okay with us - more than okay, because, I'm not sure who could love them more.
But that doesn't mean Foxglove doesn't like being spoiled!
